Full throttle is a must-have
This game is great. I recommend it to anyone who loves adventure, esepecially monkey island. No, it's not as challenging as monkey island, the puzzles are quit simple, but dang is it fun. This game is more focused on a serious story than making you chuckle, which could be good or bad depending on which type of game player you are. The graphics are great for their age, but will undoubtedly look out-dated know days. There is plenty of well acted dialoge, nothing corny or forced. A must have hard-core players.
Full Throttle (Jewel Case) -
Loads of fun but very short.
Let me start out by saying this game is a blast. It is a load of fun, has some great puzzles and great moments and you get to know the character. Having said this, it is also a very short game. Most of the puzzles will not prove too much of a challenge if you've played any other adventure games. I think the first time I played through it tooks ~4 hours with no hints over two days. It was a load of fun though, so I decided that since I knew all the puzzles, I would play it again. It took ~1.5 hours total time to play through the entire game, and this is not skipping the cutscene movies.

At the original retail price of about $40, this game was short to the point of being close to disappointing, but at $10 you will definitely get your money's worth. It's a blast from LucasArts who also makes amazing adventure games such as The Day of the Tentacle, Maniac Mansion, Zac McCracken and the Alien Mindbenders, and Sam and Max Hit the Road (all excellent, buy them all).

In short, pick this game up now if you haven't played it before.

Guybrush who?
Those of you looking for a cool adventure game should seriously consider this. Unlike other genres, adventure games don't NEED the latest graphics to prove that they're good. They need plot and puzzles. Unlike most games of its type, Full Throttle doesn't mess around trying to crack crappy jokes, but at the same time it doesn't take itself too seriously. All the characters are totally believeable and you warm to them really well (the good guys, anyway). Its hard to make a game that will make the gamer care. This really nice guy gets murdered in it, and you're actually touched deep down and its quite emotional, as if it were a film.

Another great thing about this game is that you can fight on the road. As a biker, you get to fight other bikers using chains, fists, planks of wood, whatever you can find. You also get to take part in a destruction derby. Add that to the fact that the music is seriously cool. With perhaps the exception of Iron Maiden in Carmageddon 2, this has the best soundtrack ever. You can find the soundtrack on an album by the Gone Jackals called Bone To Pick.

This game has it all. Plot, meaning, puzzles, action and emotion, and fortunately it is cliche-free. Don't bother shelling out on the new Monkey Island games (which are nothing compared to the first two), go buy this now. It may be little short, but it's a classic.
